The institution has clearly defined goals and objectives which are reflected in all its academic programs. The institute strictly follows guidelines laid down by the University & DCI in all its spheres including curriculum design, development, and revision of the curriculum. The institution follows a specific timetable for the effective delivery of the curriculum. Director academics monitors the quality of curriculum planning & implementation as per DCI (Dental Council of India) and the affiliated university’s norm. At the end of the academic year, feedback is collected from the students & faculty members on the course & curriculum. Based on the feedback remedial actions are initiated and implemented as per the academic policy of the institution. Courses generally progress in sequence, building competencies, and their positioning indicates certain academic maturity on the part of the students. Students are expected to follow the terminal-wise schedule of the course. The performance of the students is evaluated through internal assessment, this pattern ensures the timely completion of the course and methodical preparation for the students too. It also addresses employability, innovation, research, community needs, etc. The institute follows global trends in Dental Education, thereby using the latest materials, equipment, and techniques for imparting education to the students. The institute regularly organizes various Webinars and Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programs which assist in knowledge enhancement as well as the development of clinical skills. Seminars and weekly/monthly case discussions which are purely subject-oriented and involve eminent faculty in the field enable them to learn practical procedures before doing it on patients. Apart from this, the institute also takes the initiative towards the overall personality development, addressing the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the student by celebrating various National Health Programs and also by organizing annual cultural and sports week. Adequate emphasis is laid on patient safety; early clinical exposure has been the hallmark of clinical teaching at IDS. The introduction of early patient contact (etc) in the programs is the result of the feedback received from the alumni of the college.
